# Attendee level reporting

## In this article, you’ll learn how to set up attendee level reporting, including the two pieces of code it needs, the ID your registration platform provides, and where you’ll see the results.

Attendee level reporting tells you which of your registrants shared your attendee campaign, and which registrants signed up through those shares.

### **How attendee level reporting works**

Gleanin already counts the shares, clicks and conversions your attendees bring in. Attendee level reporting adds *who*: each share and each conversion is labelled with the registrant ID your registration platform gives each person.

- Registrant IDs only, never names - Gleanin reports the ID your platform gives each registrant, and you match it to the person in your own system.
- Two pieces of code, two places - who advocated is recorded by your attendee campaign’s pop-up or embed code; who converted is recorded by the confirmation page code on **Conversion Tracking**. Set up both to see both.
- Event-wide conversions - a registrant who shared can convert through another campaign, such as a speaker’s or an exhibitor’s, under the same ID, and that conversion still credits their advocacy.
- Optional - if your platform can’t give an ID, leave it out. Gleanin still counts shares, clicks and conversions, just without IDs.

Attendee level reporting is a **Pro** feature, included in Pro or added to Starter.

Note: IDs are only recorded from the moment the code with the ID is live on your pages. Shares and conversions from before then have no ID.

### **What you need before you start**

Your registration confirmation page needs a unique ID for each registrant, filled in by your registration platform. Gleanin puts a placeholder for it in the code:

- **HTML**, **Pheedloop** and **Eventbrite:** `CHANGE_ME`. Please replace it with your platform’s unique registrant ID
- **Visit by GES:** `#visitor_code#`, Visit’s own visitor code field
- **Cvent:** `{[C-CONFIRMATION NUM]}`, Cvent’s own confirmation number field

Eventbrite is only offered for your attendee campaign’s code.

### **Setting up attendee level reporting in your attendee campaign**

This code records the registrant ID of each attendee who shares. It’s part of your attendee campaign’s pop-up or embed code.

1. Go to the **Event**
2. Click **Attendee Campaigns** on the left-hand side menu
3. Click your campaign, then click the **Distribution** tab
4. Under **How will attendees find it?**, click **Pop-up** or **Embedded in a page**
5. Under **Registration confirmation page platform**, choose your platform. **HTML** is selected to start with
6. Under **Attendee level reporting**, click **Yes**
7. Under **Add the code to your page**, for HTML, Pheedloop or Eventbrite, replace `CHANGE_ME` in the code with your platform’s unique registrant ID (see **Adding the registrant ID for your provider** below)
8. Copy the code and add it to your confirmation/thanks page

For the rest of this tab, please see **Setting up and configuring your attendee campaign**.

Note: On this tab, **Yes** and **No** can be clicked when your plan includes attendee level reporting (Pro, or Starter with it added). Your choice isn’t saved, so it starts on **No** each time.

Note: **Link in an email** has no ID. Shares from attendees who open the campaign from the sendable link are counted, but not against a registrant ID.

Note: Nothing on this page is saved. It only generates code for you to copy. See [Adding the registrant ID for your provider](https://resources.gleanin.com/knowledge/attendee-level-reporting#id-provider) for the next step.

### **Setting up attendee level reporting with conversion tracking**

This code records conversions and, with attendee level reporting turned on, the registrant ID of each person who converts.

1. Go to the **Event**
2. Click **Conversion Tracking** on the left-hand side menu
3. Click **Confirmation page tracking** to open it
4. Under **Attendee level reporting**, click **Yes**
5. Under **Registration confirmation page provider**, choose your provider
6. For HTML or Pheedloop, replace `CHANGE_ME` in the code with your platform’s unique registrant ID (see **Adding the registrant ID for your provider** below)
7. Copy the code and add it to your registration confirmation page only. For Pheedloop, add it in Event Website \> Settings \> Custom Code

For Visit by GES, Pheedloop or Cvent, click **View guide for** your provider for that platform’s own steps.

Note: On this page, **Yes** and **No** can only be clicked when your account is on the Pro plan. Otherwise, they are greyed out.

Note: Nothing on this page is saved. It only generates code for you to copy. See the section below for next steps.

### **Adding the registrant ID for your provider**

Whether you generate the code on **Conversion Tracking** or on your attendee campaign’s **Distribution** tab, the registrant ID is added the same way, and the code must only be added to your registration confirmation page.

#### **HTML web page (standard) / Eventbrite (embedded checkout)**

1. Copy the code generated
2. Send the code to your registration provider or the webpage builder, or, when using **Eventbrite**, the person responsible for implementing the embedded checkout on the page
3. Ask them to replace `CHANGE_ME` with the unique registration identifier before they add the code to the page. The visitor code generated by your registration partner, or by the agency or person who built the page, is commonly used as the unique ID

Here are examples of how the code looks and the parameter that needs to be changed:

Please keep in mind that if your registration provider or webpage builder doesn’t update that parameter, we will not be able to report correctly and provide you with the insights you want.

#### **Pheedloop**

1. Copy the code generated
2. Send the code to Pheedloop
3. Ask them to replace `CHANGE_ME` with their unique registration identifier before they add the code to the page

Here is an example of how the code looks and the parameter that needs to be changed:

![](https://resources.gleanin.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Nov-03-2026-01-16-49-6346-PM.png?width=670&height=453&name=undefined-Nov-03-2026-01-16-49-6346-PM.png)

Please keep in mind that if your registration provider doesn’t update that parameter, we will not be able to report correctly and provide you with the insights you want.

#### **Visit by GES & Cvent**

1. Copy the code generated
2. Send the code to the provider
3. No changes are needed, as the `reportingId` parameter is already filled in

![](https://resources.gleanin.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Nov-03-2026-01-16-48-2321-PM.png?width=670&height=282&name=undefined-Nov-03-2026-01-16-48-2321-PM.png)

Please keep in mind that if your provider changes that parameter, or doesn’t add the code to the confirmation page, we will not be able to report correctly and provide you with the insights you want.

Note: The screenshots show the line to look for, `reportingId`. The rest of the code you copy may look different, so please always send the code you copied.

### **Where you’ll see the IDs**

- **Who advocated and who converted:** on the event’s **Results**, on **Attendee advocacy** and on each attendee campaign’s results. **Advocated** lists the IDs that shared, with how many shares, and **Converted from this advocacy** lists the IDs that registered through a shared link
- **Conversion IDs:** on **Raw data & exports**, click **Download conversion IDs** to download a CSV of conversion IDs. This needs the **Manager** or **Admin** role
- Attendees’ names: shown in the shared assets table and its export on **Raw data & exports**

**Converted from this advocacy** lists every registrant ID that converted anywhere in the event, not only the IDs that shared.

Please see **Understanding your event's results** for these screens.

Note: Conversion IDs are only shown while your plan includes attendee level reporting. If your plan changes, IDs captured earlier are hidden.
