Understanding your event results
In this article, you’ll learn how to read your event’s results, including the Overview screen, the Results page, the results of each hub, campaign and person, comparing events, your post-show report and exporting your results.
Gleanin counts every share, click and conversion your speakers, exhibitors and attendees bring in, so you can see how your event’s advocacy is going and who needs a nudge.

How results work
Every time someone shares one of your assets, the post carries a tracked link to your event, and Gleanin counts what happens next.
- Shares - each time an asset is shared on a channel.
- Clicks - each time someone clicks a tracked link.
- Conversions - each time someone who came through a tracked link completes your registration. These are counted once conversion tracking is set up on your registration pages.
- Clicks / share - the average number of times each share’s link was clicked. A higher number means your shares are getting more clicks.
- Advocates - the people who shared: your speakers and exhibitors. Attendees share anonymously, so they’re never listed as advocates.
- Live assets - assets that are published and not archived, so they can be shared.
Your results come from your Speaker hub, your Exhibitor hub and your attendee campaigns.
Note: Some screens call conversions Registrations. They’re the same figure.
The Overview screen
The Overview is the first screen you see when you open an event.
- Go to the Event
- Click Overview on the left-hand side menu
You will see three tiles: Speakers, Exhibitors and Attendees. Each shows:
- Its status: Live when there’s at least one live asset, Nothing live when the hub has none, and Not set up when there’s no hub yet. The Attendees tile shows Live or No campaigns
- How many speakers, exhibitors or campaigns the event has, and how many live assets
- Its Clicks, Shares and Conversions
Click Enter hub to open the hub, or View campaigns to open your attendee campaigns. When there’s no hub yet, click Create your first speaker asset or Create your first exhibitor asset to get started.
Note: Reporting on every tile opens the event’s Results page. To see one hub or campaign, open it from the Results page.
The Results page
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
The badge in the top right counts down to your event’s start date, and reads Show closed once it has started.
Before anything has been shared, you will see Shares will land here. Click Go to your asset hubs to check your hubs.
Once there is activity, you will see:
- Shares, Clicks and Conversions for the whole event, and its Clicks / share. Click a figure to see its own page
- Are you on track? before your event starts: your running total week by week, with a Projection line showing where you’ll land at your current pace. Choose Shares, Clicks, Conversions or Clicks / share above the chart
- How did it go? once your event has started, with a Build your post-show report button
- Compare with another event, with a Compare events button
- Where it's coming from: shares, clicks and conversions for each channel. Click Show all n channels to see every channel
- Your hubs and Your attendee campaigns: each hub and campaign with its Shares, Clicks / share and Conversions. Click one to open its own results
Each hub and campaign, comparing events and the post-show report are covered below.
Shares, Clicks and Conversions pages
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Click Shares, Clicks or Conversions
Each page shows:
- The figure for each channel
- Shares over time, Clicks over time or Conversions over time, day by day
- Every live asset, with its Advocates, Shares, Clicks, Clicks / share and Conversions. Search with Search assets, or click a column heading to sort by it
How hub and campaign results differ
- Your hubs - your speakers and exhibitors are people you know by name, so you can see who hasn’t posted yet, how each group is doing and who your top advocates are.
- Your attendee campaigns - attendees share anonymously, so you see what each campaign earned and, with Attendee level reporting, the registrant IDs of who shared and who converted.
Your hub’s results
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Under Your hubs, click Speaker hub or Exhibitor hub
You will see:
- The hub’s Shares, Clicks, Conversions and Clicks / share
- How many people haven’t posted yet, for example "12 of 40 speakers haven't posted yet · 70% participation"
- Groups in this hub: how many people in each group have shared, under Engagement, and each group’s Shares, Clicks / share and Conversions
- Top advocates and Top content: the top three by conversions. Click See all for the full list
- Where this hub's activity lands: the hub’s results for each channel
Note: Someone counts as having posted once they’ve shared. Someone in two groups is counted in both, so your groups can add up to more than the hub.
Reminding the people who haven’t posted
- Click View list
- You will see each person who hasn’t shared yet, marked Not started or Generated a post (they made a post but haven’t shared it)
- Click Get mail merge links
- On the hub’s Distribution page, Not participated yet is already chosen. Click Download for mail merge
The download has each person’s name, email, groups and own hub link, ready for a mail merge. Please see Sending your speakers their hub links.
An attendee campaign’s results
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Under Your attendee campaigns, click the campaign
You will see:
- The campaign’s Shares, Clicks, Conversions and Clicks / share
- By asset: what each of the campaign’s assets earned. Click an asset to open its results
- Who advocated and who converted: the registrant IDs of attendees who shared, and of those who registered through a shared link
- Where this campaign's activity lands: the campaign’s results for each channel
Who advocated and who converted
Registrant IDs are the IDs your registration platform gives each registrant. Gleanin never shows attendees’ names, so you can match the IDs in your own system.
If you are on Gleanin Pro or have added Attendee level reporting to Starter, IDs are recorded once its tracking code is live on your registration confirmation page. Please see Setting up and configuring your attendee campaign.
Note: This panel covers your whole event, so it shows the same IDs on every campaign.
Note: Without Attendee level reporting, the panel is blurred. Click Unlock Attendee-Level Reporting to upgrade.
One speaker’s or exhibitor’s results
- Go to the Event
- Under Data on the left-hand side menu, click Speakers or Exhibitors
- Click the person
Their Results card shows:
- How engaged they are: Not engaged yet, Made a post, not shared or Engaged
- Assets created: how many Images created and Videos created
- Performance: their Shares, Clicks and Conversions, compared with the hub average
To remind them, click Send a reminder. This opens an email to them in your email app, with their own hub link, which you can edit before sending. It’s shown until they’ve shared, if they have an email address.
To see more, click View results. You will see their Rank by shares in the hub, Clicks / share, Click-to-conversion rate, Last shared, and Every post they’ve shared, with their Best post marked.
Note: View results can be clicked once they’ve shared something.
Comparing with another event
Comparing shows your event’s running total next to an earlier event’s, week by week back from each event’s start date.
To compare with another event, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Under Compare with another event, click Compare events
- Under Choose an event to compare with, find the event, or type in Search…
- Click the event
- Choose Shares, Clicks, Conversions or Clicks / share
Your event is the solid line, and the event you picked is the dashed line. To pick a different event, click Compare with… in the top right, or choose No comparison to clear it.
Note: You can pick any of your account’s other events, including Gleanin Classic events. An event that hasn’t started yet is marked Not started yet and can’t be picked.
Note: Gleanin Classic didn’t record the day of each click, so its click figures are approximate.
The post-show report
Once your event has started, you can build your post-show report.
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Under How did it go?, click Build your post-show report
To compare with another event, click Compare with… in the top right and choose the event.
The report shows:
- Registrations, Advocates live, Shares and Clicks. With a comparison, each also shows the other event’s figure and the change
- Where it's coming from: your results for each channel
- Your hubs and Your attendee campaigns: click one to open its own results
- Top advocates: the five people who brought in the most registrations
- Top assets: the five assets that brought in the most registrations
Note: Registrations are your conversions, so they read 0 until conversion tracking is set up.
Your advocates and your assets
On your post-show report, click See all under Top advocates or Top assets to see the full list.
Advocates lists your speakers and exhibitors, with their Posts, Shares, Clicks and Conversions:
- Choose Speakers or Exhibitors to show only those
- Search with Search advocates, or click a column heading to sort by it
- Click a person to see each of their posts, with a link to it on LinkedIn under Live post
Assets lists every live asset, with its Advocates, Shares, Clicks, Clicks / share and Conversions:
- Choose Speakers, Exhibitors or Attendees to show only those
- Search with Search assets, or click a column heading to sort by it
- Click an asset to open its results
Results for one asset
Click an asset on the Assets list, under Top assets, or on a hub’s or campaign’s results to see:
- Its Shares, Clicks, Conversions and Clicks / share
- Who shared it: each person who posted it and what they earned. Click a person to see their posts
Note: Attendees share anonymously, so an attendee campaign’s asset has no list of who shared it.
Exporting your results
Raw data & exports lists every shared asset and lets you download your results. It opens from an attendee campaign’s results, and needs Attendee level reporting, included in Pro or added to Starter.
- Go to the Event
- Click Results on the left-hand side menu
- Under Your attendee campaigns, click a campaign
- Under Who advocated and who converted, click View full conversion data
- Click Export
- Click Export as CSV or Export as XLSX
The file is named after your event and downloads straight away. It has a row for each share link, with the Campaign, Type and Stakeholder, their Company and JobTitle, the shares, clicks and conversions for each channel, and the Total shares, Total clicks and Total conversions.
Conversion tracking on your results
Conversions reach Gleanin once the conversion tracking script is live on your registration pages. You set this up on Conversion Tracking on the left-hand side menu.
When your event has shares or clicks but no conversions yet, the Conversions figure is replaced by:
- Conversion tracking isn’t set up: click Set up tracking to open Conversion Tracking
- Or, if your plan doesn’t include it, Conversion tracking with a Pro feature badge: click Manage your account to upgrade
Note: This card goes away with your first conversion, so you may also see it when tracking is set up but nobody has registered through a shared link yet.
