When sharing on LinkedIn, the default setting prioritises the individual (from LinkedIn's perspective) over the company. If you attempt to switch to posting as the company, you will need to remove the link or media file before doing so.
After conducting research, we discovered that the only effective method to post as a company on LinkedIn is by doing so directly from the company page. Alternatively, you can remove any attached links or media files from the post before switching to the company account.
The reason behind this occurrence and its significance remain unclear to us, but it is important to note that this is a rule set by LinkedIn that cannot be bypassed.
Here are two possible solutions to address this issue:
- Use the curated share flow feature on LinkedIn to enable your stakeholders to download the image along with the post text and link, allowing for tracking to be maintained. For detailed instructions on how to enable and use the curated share flow, please read this article.
- When sending the share tool link via email, encourage the recipient to share it within their organisation and have their colleagues share it from their personal profiles. This is especially beneficial for exhibitors, as booth/stand staff often have personal connections with customers and prospects. Consider adding this suggestion to the share tool's splash page for easy reference.
